Mayor Balzotti announces nominations are open for
Women of the Year
Women’s Commission now accepting nominees for 2011 awards
Brockton -- Mayor Linda M. Balzotti and the City of Brockton’s Commission on Women’s Issues are proud to announce that nominations for the 2011 Women of the Year Awards are now open.
“This award is a great way to honor residents who are working to make Brockton the best it can be,” said Balzotti. “It also works to inspire the next generation of future leaders to become active in their community, which is priceless.”
The woman being nominated must be age 16 or older, a Brockton resident, and someone who has made a significant contribution outside of their job to the Brockton community within the last year. Award recipients will be judged on their contributions made to residents of the Brockton community or the Brockton community in general.
Nomination forms are available on the city web site and in the Mayor’s Office located on the first floor of City Hall, 45 School St.
Nominations must be received by Friday, Feb. 11th, 2011.Please attach no more than a one page essay explaining why you are nominating this woman for the award.
No nomination will be accepted without a completed nomination form and attached essay. Email nomination forms and essays are preferred. Send all email nomination forms and essays to womenscommission@cobma.us.
The recipients of the Women of the Year Awards will be honored at the 2011 Women of the Year Award Breakfast scheduled for Saturday, March 5th at the Shaw’s Center, 1 Feinberg Way, Brockton.
