Ms. Ethnic World International 2011

                                                      Ms. Ethnic World International 2011
                                                                  Michelle Vilanova

Michelle is a proud wife, mother, and grandmother.  She is also beginning her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse.  She is currently enrolled in Kaplan College pursuing her AA in Nursing.  It is her ultimate goal to open her own mid-wife practice.  In a world where not everyone can afford healthcare, becoming a mid-wife will allow her to offer quality pre-natal care, labor and delivery care to those who cannot afford it.  It would also allow her to use her nursing skills in other areas of volunteer medicine.

Michelle has been involved in pageantry since her early teens.  But it wasn’t until she became an adult that she realized the empowering effect pageants could have on her.  She has held the titles of Mrs. San Diego Globe, Mrs. Chula Vista Globe, Ms. California Belleza Latina, Ms. Puerto Rico Belleza Latina and, Ms. Belleza Latina International 2008.

This year she set her sights on Ethnic World.  Excited about the Ethnic World platform of HIV/AIDS Awareness, she wanted to be part of something bigger than herself.  Representing Latinas over the age of 40, Michelle won the coveted title of Ms. Ethnic World International 2011.  She has dedicated her reign to her grandson in the hopes that he will grow up in a world where HIV/AIDS is not the killer it is today; that people won’t mistreat each other because of a disease that they do not understand.

She thanks her wonderful family for their love, patience and support.  And lastly, gives all the honor and glory to her Lord, Jesus Christ, for His love, forgiveness and many blessings.
